Teaser:
Imax® film Wired to Win travels into the Brains of Tour de France Cyclists. This film is a must see for anyone
interested in cycling and is worth watching just for the mind blowing panoramas!
Review:
Wired to Win: Surviving the tour de France tells the story of the Australian Rider Baden Cooke and his French
teammate Jimmy Casper during the 2003 Tour de France. If you have ever wanted to know what it is like to be
in the peleton with the greats you won't want to miss this one.
For the inquisitive amongst us, Wired to Win uses stunning animation which is seamlessly intertwined with the live action
of the riders to tell the story of the human nervous system in action. The production team consulted with Toronto's own
Dr. Jonathan Downer physician and neuroscientist for a result you will have to see for yourself. The illustrations of
how pain and fear take place in the mind and the body are truly fascinating. The film constantly alternates the story
of the Tour de France with the animated exploration of the brain physiology that drives these great athletes. The
information is presented in such a way that there is never a dull moment. You definitely do not need to know anything
about neuroscience to enjoy this movie, but an inquiring mind is a bonus.
Despite the fascinating science component of this production and the inspiring story of the riders, this film is worth
watching just for the mind blowing panoramas of the Tour! The aerial views flying through the Pyrenees and Alps are
absolutely breathtaking. You have never and may never again get a chance to see the world's greatest race this way.
If the tour was broadcast in Imax® every year I would take the month off work. I guarantee your endorphins will be
going the entire time!
